Grade 4 Remebrance Day

For Remembrance Day Grade 4 students learned all about the famous “unlucky” plane from WW2, named Friday the 13th. The students spoke about superstitions and learned that the plane was painted with different superstitions to help reverse the bad luck that cursed the Halifax planes. The plane was painted with an upside-down horseshoe, a ladder the crew had to walk under every time they boarded the plane and even a skull and cross bones! It worked! The plane flew 128 missions and is in the Yorkshire museum. The students learned about the crew and they were even able to try on a real RCAF uniform from a crew member that was onboard Friday the 13th!
