Dear Westpark Parents,
This month, Westpark has partnered with WE to organize a Hunger Hero food drive. This year, our food will be donated to the On Rock Community Services Food Bank. The food drive is being organized and sponsored by our Leadership students.
On Rock is dedicated to helping out families in need or who are in a bind. They ensure that all food goes directly to the families who need it most. If you wish to find out more about On Rock Community Services, you can visit www.onrock.org.
Our food drive will start Tuesday, May 21st and end on Friday, May 24th.
To celebrate all of the food collected during this week, students who have donated non-perishable food items are invited to come to school dressed in a super hero costume on Friday, May 24th.
Any donations made must consist of non-perishable food items.
Below is a list of examples of food items that CAN be donated:
– canned beans
– dry beans
– peanut butter, or other nut butters
– rolled oats
– canned fruit in juice, not in light or heavy syrup
– canned vegetables
– soups or stews
– canned tuna
– canned chicken
– brown rice or quinoa
– nuts and seeds
– pasta sauce
– popcorn kernels
– unsweetened apple sauce
– olive or canola oil
– canned tomatoes
– dried fruits
– chicken, beef and vegetable broths and stock
